Digital Archiving Policy (LOCKSS/CLOCKSS)
To guarantee the long-term electronic preservation and fail-safe restoration of the scholarly record, the Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) utilizes robust, decentralized digital archiving frameworks.
LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Implementation
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): JCAM utilizes the built-in PKP PN archiving system, which implements LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) software to create a secure, distributed archiving system among participating academic libraries. This allows libraries to form permanent archives of the journal for purposes of historic preservation.
- CLOCKSS Preparation: The journal ensures its technical metadata layouts conform directly to OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) protocols, facilitating automated node ingestion into CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) systems to safeguard permanent global digital access.
