Plagiarism Detection & Limits
The Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant text recycling. All incoming manuscripts are automatically screened through professional text-matching systems prior to being sent to reviewers.
- Similarity Index Threshold: JCAM strictly accepts manuscripts with an overall similarity index of 15% or below (excluding references).
- Manuscripts exceeding this percentage, or containing blocks of copy-pasted text without explicit block quoting/attribution, will be immediately rejected during desk evaluation.
Correction, Retraction, and Expression of Concern Policy
JCAM recognizes its duty to maintain the accuracy of the permanent scholarly record. If errors, misconduct, or inaccuracies are discovered post-publication:
- Errata/Corrigenda: Published for minor, honest scientific errors or omissions that do not compromise the conclusions of the paper.
- Expressions of Concern: Issued by the Editor-in-Chief if there is inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct, or if an investigation is complex and lengthy.
- Retractions: Executed in clear cases of data fabrication, pervasive honest errors that invalidate the study's conclusions, dual publication, or severe plagiarism. Retraction notices are linked directly to the original article PDF in accordance with COPE guidelines.
