Author Guidelines
The Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) welcomes high-quality manuscripts that advance clinical medicine, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation. Authors are requested to follow these guidelines to ensure smooth editorial handling and timely peer review.
1. Article Types Accepted
JCAM accepts the following manuscript types:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles / Systematic Reviews / Meta-Analyses
- Case Reports / Case Series
- Short Communications
- Clinical Studies
- Technical or Methodological Papers
- Editorials and Commentaries
- Perspective and Opinion Articles
Authors must select the correct article type during submission.
2. General Formatting
- Language: English
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Pages must be numbered
- Use clear section headings
3. Manuscript Structure
3.1 Title Page (Separate File)
Must include:
- Full title
- Short running title (≤ 50 characters)
- Author names and affiliations
- Corresponding author details (name, email, address; phone optional)
- Author contribution statement
3.2 Abstract & Keywords
- Abstract length: 150–300 words
- Structured abstract for research articles: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion
- Case reports: Introduction, Case Description, Conclusion
- Keywords: 3–6 (MeSH terms preferred)
3.3 Main Text
Original Articles
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Conflict of Interest
- Funding Statement
- References
Review Articles
- Structured or unstructured
- Must include summary and future directions
Case Reports
- Introduction
- Case Description

4. Ethical Requirements
JCAM follows COPE and ICMJE guidelines.
Authors must ensure:
- Ethical approval details are provided (if applicable)
- Informed consent for human participants
- Clinical trial registration details (if applicable)
- Manuscripts are original and not under review elsewhere
- Plagiarism similarity is within acceptable limits
5. Figures and Tables
Figures
- Formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF
- Resolution: Minimum 300 dpi
- Number sequentially
Tables
- Use Word table format
- Provide titles and footnotes
- Avoid image-based tables
Permission is required for reused images.
6. References
JCAM uses the Vancouver (numbered) style.
- References cited in numerical order
- Listed in order of appearance
7. Submission Checklist
Before submission, ensure:
- Manuscript follows formatting rules
- All authors approve the submission
- Conflict of interest statement included
- Ethical approval provided (if required)
- Figures and tables uploaded separately
- Title page uploaded as a separate file
8. Peer Review Process
JCAM uses a Single-Blind Peer Review system:
- Reviewers know author identities
- Authors do not know reviewer identities
- At least two reviewers assess each manuscript
9. Publication Model
JCAM follows a Continuous Publication model.
Accepted articles are published online individually as soon as they complete peer review and production, without waiting for scheduled issues.
10. Open Access & Licensing
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing free use and redistribution with proper citation.
11. Article Processing Charges (APC)
- APC is charged only after acceptance
- Amount: USD 500 per article
- No submission or review fees
