Editorial Responsibilities
The Editorial Board of the Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) is committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and scientific rigor. Our editors—including the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Section Editors—operate under the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices and ICMJE recommendations to ensure a fair and unbiased publishing environment.
Core Editorial Responsibilities
1. Scientific Integrity & Fair Evaluation Editors must evaluate manuscripts exclusively on their scientific merit (originality, validity, and clinical relevance) and its alignment with the journal’s scope. Decisions are made without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
2. Management of Peer Review Editors are responsible for ensuring a robust Single-Blind Peer Review process. This includes:
- Selecting at least two independent reviewers with documented expertise in the subject matter.
- Ensuring reviewers have no known conflicts of interest with the authors or the research.
- Monitoring the review timeline to maintain our 25–30 day publication cycle.
3. Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure The Editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and other editorial advisers. Editors shall not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the express written consent of the authors.
4. Editorial Independence & Neutrality Editorial decisions are not influenced by the publisher (NEO-ART EXCELLENCE HUB PRIVATE LIMITED), advertisers, or other commercial entities. The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over the editorial content of the journal and the timing of its publication.
5. Conflict of Interest Management Editors must recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships/connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
6. Ethical Oversight & Malpractice Handling Editors shall take reasonable responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper.
- Plagiarism: Mandatory screening via Turnitin/iThenticate.
- Research Ethics: Verification of IRB approval and Informed Consent for all clinical studies.
- Misconduct: In cases of suspected misconduct, editors follow the COPE flowcharts to resolve the issue.
7. Corrections, Retractions, and Transparency Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the published record. When errors are identified, editors will work with authors to publish:
- Errata/Corrigenda: For minor technical errors.
- Retractions: In cases of fundamental flaws or proven misconduct.
- Expressions of Concern: While an investigation is ongoing.
8. Constructive Communication Editors must provide authors with clear, constructive feedback from reviewers and a detailed explanation for the final editorial decision (Accept, Revision, or Reject).
