Publication Model & Frequency

The Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) operates on a Continuous Publication model. This modern scholarly approach ensures that accepted manuscripts are published online individually as soon as they complete the peer review and production process.

Key Benefits of Our Model:

  • Immediate Visibility: Research is accessible and citable via a permanent DOI within 30 days of submission.
  • Structured Archiving: While articles are published continuously, they are curated into two semi-annual issues (Issue 1: January–June; Issue 2: July–December) to maintain a consistent bibliographic record for international indexing.
  • Rapid Dissemination: Eliminates the "waiting period" associated with traditional print schedules, supporting timely clinical decision-making.

Digital Archiving & Preservation Policy

JCAM is committed to the long-term preservation, stability, and permanent accessibility of the global scholarly record. We employ a multi-layered archiving strategy:

1. LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Integration JCAM utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) systems to ensure a secure and permanent archive for the journal. These programs allow participating libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

2. OJS-Based Digital Storage As an Open Journal Systems (OJS) publication, JCAM benefits from a robust digital infrastructure that includes:

  • Secure server storage with daily off-site backups.
  • Persistent metadata harvesting via OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting).

3. Persistent Identifiers (DOI) Every article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. This ensures that the link to the research remains permanent and "clickable" even if the website URL changes in the future.

Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)

JCAM encourages authors to share their research widely. Authors are permitted to deposit all versions of their paper (Pre-print, Multi-print, or the Final Published Version/Version of Record) in:

  • Institutional Repositories.
  • Subject-specific Repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, ArXiv).
  • Personal or Professional Websites.
  • Note: All deposited versions must include a link to the original DOI on the JCAM website.
