Peer Review and Conflict of Interest
Peer Review Policy
JCAM follows a Single-Blind Peer Review system:
- Reviewers know the authors’ identities
- Authors do not know the reviewers’ identities
Review Process Includes:
- Initial editorial screening
- Assignment to at least two independent reviewers
- Reviewer evaluation and recommendation
- Editorial decision (accept, revise, reject)
- Revisions and final approval
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and unbiased feedback.
Confidentiality
Reviewers must:
- Keep manuscripts confidential
- Not use unpublished content for personal purposes
Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy
1. Authors
Authors must disclose:
- Financial interests
- Employment or consultancies
- Grants or funding sources
- Personal or professional relationships
- Any factor influencing the research outcome
A COI statement is mandatory in all submissions.
2. Reviewers
Reviewers must decline to review when:
- The manuscript involves collaborators
- A financial or personal connection exists
- There is potential bias or conflict
3. Editors
Editors must recuse themselves if:
- They have co-authored with the authors
- They have competing interests
- They cannot remain impartial
Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scientific merit.
