The Journal of Clinical and Advanced Medicine (JCAM) strictly prohibits plagiarism, duplicate submission, and unethical reuse of previously published material. All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using standard similarity detection tools.

1. Acceptable Similarity Threshold

JCAM accepts manuscripts with a similarity index of 15% or below.

Not acceptable:

  • Total similarity above 15%
  • Single-source similarity above 5–7%
  • Reuse of text without proper citation
  • Plagiarism of figures, tables, or data

Manuscripts exceeding the limit will be returned to authors for correction or rejected.

2. Types of Plagiarism Considered Misconduct

  • Direct plagiarism – copying text without citation
  • Self-plagiarism – reusing one’s own previously published work
  • Mosaic plagiarism – patching phrases from different sources
  • Data plagiarism – using others’ results or images without permission
  • Duplicate submission – submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals

3. Duplicate & Redundant Publication

JCAM does not allow:

  • Submitting the same article to more than one journal
  • Publishing previously published content without permission
  • Splitting one study into multiple overlapping manuscripts ("salami publication")

If detected, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.

4. Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal will:

  • Conduct an investigation
  • Notify the author(s)
  • Follow COPE guidelines

Actions may include:

  • Correction notice
  • Retraction
  • Notification to authors’ institutions
